Western Panoramas
The American West is a magnificent and wonderful land, filled with amazing sights and incredible beauty. It is impossible for one person to see even a small percentage of what is available for viewing. Some of the most amazing scenery is hidden from view at the end of long hiking trails, while others are there for the viewing, right off the highway or a short walk from the parking lot. You just have to wait for the right lighting, the right moment. My favorite subjects for panoramas are mountains, canyons or valleys, and of course water. Sunsets and sunrises are favorite times, but under the right circumstances, full daytime scenes can be quite powerful, such as the wide valley along the Icefields Parkway in British Columbia above. My all time favorite location, however, has to be southwest Utah, the land of beautiful canyons and striking formations such as the Waterpocket Fold in Capital Reef, or Bryce Canyon, shown above. If you have never visited the American West, it is something you really should do - you will never forget the experience!
